Why Ghost
Is Ghost heavy metal...or not?
Ghost's music has been categorized in many genres, critics have classified them as hard rock, heavy metal, doom metal, pop rock, progressive rock, psychedelic rock, occult rock, and arena rock. Adrien Begrand of PopMatters stated that Ghost recalls "the early sounds of Black Sabbath, Pentagram, and Judas Priest, as well as the progressive and psychedelic rock of the late '60s." Speaking to Noisey.com, a Nameless Ghoul described Ghost as a black metal band in the traditional sense, but said that they probably do not fit into the norms of the current black metal scene. This Nameless Ghoul described Ghost's music as a mix between pop music and death metal.

Year Zero
Loudwire referred to "Year Zero" as possibly the standout track of Infestissumam. About the song, Spin wrote that "Satanic-choir hooks flow into comparatively restrained, melodic verses that are somehow even more sinister." Metal Forces called it one of the album's best with its "eerie chants that sound as if they've been lifted from the local monastery" and its infectious drum beat.

Call Me Little Sunshine
Between the occult-rock troupe's deliriously catchy pop-metal anthems, increasingly opulent stage productions and gleefully campy videos, mastermind Tobias Forge has made Satanism seem very, very fun. The band's latest single, "Call Me Little Sunshine," continues in that vein, as Papa Emeritus IV takes the role of Mephistopheles, A.K.A. Little Sunshine, who can "save" the listener when they "feel all alone." -Revolver Magazine
